New Wind Power - The Wind Belt Invention

OK so let's see one on a sensible scale producing a useful amount of energy. Toys like this are trivial. Let's see a few kilowatts from the wind.

It's a creative idea, but I'm wondering about its advantages and disadvantages, and if there would be any applications in which it would have practical use.

There was no sound track of the device in operation, so I suspect it has a noisy buzz in operation. Most wind generators kill birds flying in their area, but this one may not be hazardous to them. A wind farm with 1000's
of these would probably be too noisy to live close by, but maybe kites could loft them high enough to mute the noise.

I like electricity, I want to build a vacuum robot that would clean the sidewalk around my house. I could watch my robot working while I drink a orange cola or playing hakky-bag :P

wow enough power to run a LED! thats amazing, NOT. I can do that using a slot car motor with a small fan stuck to it and then just blowing on it.

Not so bad but how many energy you uses for the fan compare what you got ^^

Well in this case he has nothing brilliant at all to say, just that he was looking for a cheaper alternative to wind power, he mentions he used mylar coated taffeta, some coils and a magnet, the original video didn't spend enough time actually watching the device work so I made that section loop over & over, if I didn't add music then you would hear his voice in an endless loop being extremely annoying to everyone, at least I didn't add rap or heavy metal. not everyone likes the same music.

I didn't mean to offend anyone, just hate the distraction that "music" can do to dystroy what this very intelligent man is trying to show us all, it is extemely interesting, just wished I could have heard him {shawn} "TELL" us his thoughts not a mindless musician. Keep up the good work !!!

This is a recreation of Shawn Payne's videos on the net, search his name and you can hear him speak, you probably won't be impressed, he's just an ordinary guy.

Also, perhaps you lacked the intelligence to notice that the video has a volume control, you don't have to listen to anything you don't want to.
My question to you is "have you anything in your brain!"

Yes it did generate this music.
We tried rap music and the band kept snapping.
Whenever we tried heavy metal the entire unit exploded in flames.
Classical music slowed down the electrical output.
So if you buy one of these you are stuck with this music, sorry.

it is New ideas like this that should be followed up by government officials to help rid the world of dirty coal-fired generators.A stroke of genius for this young man ...and i truly respect his efforts....keep up the good work thanx

I reckon this thing would be rather noisy to have a round and on a large scale could be heard from a bloody long distance.
