Novelist Randy Wayne White was an acclaimed fishing guide before he wrote the first Doc Ford novel (a series which now has a devoted cult following.) Here is fascinating footage of White before he became famous as a writer. He fishes with Carl and Scott Hiaasen (Scott lands a 80-pound tarpon on 12 lb. test). Bobby Kennedy Jr. and Lorian Hemingway land lots of snook and redfish. Video is from a PBS TV series, ON THE WATER. Backdrop music is one of Jimmy Buffett's greatest songs.

    Ah, Mr White. This is soo cool. My parents live in Naples and I missed going out doing some backwater fishing last time I visited. It was that horribly cold Wednesday in late February. This vid helps.
