  • A unique break. ...

A unique break. Performed under tremendous pressure to save this semi-finals match, the poor positional play is more than rectified with some incredible shots.

3:01 easily the best shot ever on a snooker table!

  • forget all the 147' ...

forget all the 147's,THIS has to be the top clearance in snooker history. alex needed every ball and one miss and he was out of the tournament.he was more concerned with the pots than the positioning so it took something alex had in spades...balls(not the snooker type).the young hot shots of today would have ALL cracked under the pressure. he's a one -off and we'll never see his like again.he faced it and beat it. our hero...ALEX HIGGINS.WE LOVE YOU MATE.

  • Hi. Even today, you ...

Hi. Even today, you see players losing the position. They usually tend to play a safety shot then. Alex could have played a safety shot, too, but he went for the pots. It shows a lot of courage, being one ball away from getting out of the tournament. He recovered position after the first few shots, let's say he was out of position on 5 shots out of 18. This is in my mind the greatest break ever! Alex is my personal Number 1 and he will always be! :)

  • Some beautiful pots ...

Some beautiful pots -- but it shows you how much snooker has improved over the last 25 years. These days, the top players would play much better positional shots and make this break a whole lot easier on themselves.
