  • I still don't ...

I still don't understand the purpose in the end. After Strother Martin successfully changes Dirk Benedict into a king cobra, he decides to bring out his other king cobra who proceeds to kill him. Why did he bring out his other king cobra, and why didn't he tame his cobra unlike earlier in the movie?

  • He WAS mad and ...

He WAS mad and ignorant in theology though. He put himself below a mere crawling cursed animal when in fact a human being is always in God's mind!

I saw this on Encore when Encore first hit the airwaves. This film is freakier than Hell. The funny thing is, I was walking around a recycled entertainment store...pow, there it was. I grabbed the dvd and added it to my classic horror collection. A killer flick not many know about.

  • I saw this flick ...

I saw this flick the weekend that it opened in Orlando, FLA (at the Orange Blossom Twin Theater) back in 1973. It was part of a double feature (the other film was THE BOY WHO CRIED WEREWOLF!)...Anyway, I was 13 at the time and SSSSSSS gave me nightmares for 2 weeks! I had to sleep with the light on. Strother Martin is the quintessential mad scientist and his character's slow torture of poor David (Dirk Benedict)gives me the chills even today! This is an oldie but goodie!

I bought the DVD at Amazon a while ago cos I'd heard alot about this movie and wanted to see it for myself. Agree with what's already been said......it is seriously eerie! - well worth buying. Plus it has the delectable Dirk Benedict in it. That alone, is reason enough for me to buy it. lol

  • This movie scared ...

This movie scared the hell out of me when I saw it as a little kid. Terrified me for year. I saw it 20 years later and was shocked how creepy it still was. That shot of the snake man in the carnival really did hold up-especially considering when it was made. Get chills just thinking about it. Where did you get a copy. I've looked for it and had no luck.
