forthelasttime223 is right, it their fault they are like that, not the government. I live in Romania and there are few people under the poverty line in the cities but are a lot in the country side. It is a normal fact present in any countryes. The only way this thing can be stopped is comunism and I don't think anyone want's that. Americans don't even know how life in comunism is and I don't think they wana.

  • Honestly this ...

Honestly this problem is bigger than presented here. It is begginning to effect a lot of people because of rising costs. Gas prices are sky high. This is a national crisis not just limited to those in extreme poverty. We are in a recession. Why do you think Bush gave us some money for a stimlus payment. If even companies which make tons of money are suffering then we are facing another depression

lack of higher education is not always a problem. I have a bachelors degree in communications which should allow me to get almost any job. It is a myth that education is a always a way out of poverty. I have a huge loan over my head so now I am going to get a masters degree so I can somehow mangae to make $25,000/year.

wow, gotta love brilliance such as this. you did not dispute it. remember mommy telling you the same thing? work hard, stay in school, dont have babies before its right, dont go to jail? remember that? well she was right. i see these people every day, on the porch drinking instead of working, and it is a national disgrace. im sorry, its NOT that hard to make a decent living in u.s. We should help those who cant help themselves, not the lazy.

Well, I am doing a research paper about poverty in America, and I don't think that this video did anything but bore me. I thought it to be very biased, and one sided. It spoke nothing of the solutions to stop poverty. Maybe Hiatus Productions could do a sequel to this films acutally showing us the truths of poverty and the probable outcomes of how to solve it.

I consider it a political and social crime that a poor or middle class family be prohibited by the POLITICIANS from getting decent modern housing by negating property ownership through politicaly engineered hyper-inflation and taxation.

I have a college degree in business yet I do not have the work experience so I am virtually unemployable. I am overqualfied to work for wal-mart or mcdonalds but I do not have enough qualfications to work as a store manager? I want to vocational rehab and told them it would be nice to work in a bank but they told me those jobs are for people with masters degrees? A BANK? since when?
