The fish towed 3 of us around for about 45 minutes and the total landing time took around an hour.

Exactly. look up the commercial fishing vids and you'll get an idea of who has the real impact. spearos take maybe 4 BM a year while the long liners take what 400. thats whats disgusting.

As far as JConlon11's comments, I really hope that he is a vegan and does not consume any seafood products or else what he said is extremely hypocritical. This fish was a once in a lifetime opportunity for Tim and this fish was used to feed many poor villagers. All parts were consumed and utilized. Its always easy to attack the guy who spears the one poor fish while commercial longliners are raping the sea of cortez right in front of us.

i spearfish also, i still reli reli would struggle to take the shot on one of those and would not want to be the 1 to brain it on shoot it in the head :(

but can you imagin being a carrot the being pulled out of ya bed of dirt by ya hair then slowly skinned with a peeler then dropped into boiling salted water then cut up into small bits...... i think the fish have it good.

i think i am gonna turn veggiterian, can you imagin how it would feel to get stabed when your minding your own bees wax then have to sufficate to death while they pull the knife out your stomic!
