This is Kenny's version - he actually released the song first originally... not the Doobs. Mike wrote it but was struggling on the bridge. He invited Kenny over - the first time they had met - and Mike was playing the chords as he walked up to the pad. According to Mike, Kenny just stood at the door and said "Man, let's work on that" They wrote the rest together. It was a difficult song for the Doobie Brothers really and great credit goes to their producer Ted Templeman for pulling it together.

Oh this is nice. I prefer this to the original version.

Yeah,Mikey has a great smokey tone to his voice that put's a distinctive emphasis on a any song he sings.

Its all about that beat, those background vocals and those 2 men. Their vocal blend is too much. Smooth like butter and silk. I don't give a rip about what the words mean, I just want to roll around in that vibe outside in the mountains. I can only what that must have felt like.

Loggins also released a version on his 1978 album Nightwatch, and a live version on his 1990 album Kenny Loggins Alive. SMMOOOTH is right!
