I don't know anyone who doesn't like a big bowl of spaghetti topped with a homemade spaghetti sauce. Hi, I'm Chef Jason Hill and today I'm going to share my easy recipe for spaghetti sauce. This spaghetti sauce recipe. This recipe uses ground turkey instead of beef, but vegetarians can omit the meat all together. The recipe calls for one small to medium onion, which is diced.     Hey!! hold on a minute here!! You never put the onions in with the garlic!!! Old Italian no no! You need to understand the basics of Italian cooking before you attempt to crate a good sauce . To each his own yes, but sacrilegious to do that!

    I actually chop up about 4 cups of fresh baby spinach leaves and add them to the sauce as it's boiling. The spinach cooks down, and my kids never know they are eating it! I have also boiled broccoli florets and stirred them in the sauce at the last minute.

    2 tablespoons olive oil
    1/2 onion diced
    1 garlic clove minced
    1 tablespoon dry basil
    1 tablespoon dry oregano
    1/2 pound ground turkey or beef
    1/4 cup of sherry wine
    1 28 ounce can of crushed tomatoes
    1 15 ounce can of tomato sauce
    1 6 ounce can of tomato paste
    Salt and Pepper to taste
    1 tablespoon of sugar at the end if needed.
