I'm not squeamish, but wow. He's lucky he didn't break his back. That fool had to have known what he was doing if he was picking dude up and positioning him that way.

That looked really awful. I train in BJJ and been to plenty of big tournaments..never seen anything like that...I can't say whether that's intentional or not..the guy looked pretty shook up. Personally, I will be VERY CAREFUL when I stand up in my training partners gaurd

You truly a moron ... I am a far better striker and would rather standup , but I have no doubt in a real street fight I could pop a joint/choke out anyone with with no ground training ... and if they wanna fight dirty that just more pain for them . BTW Street fighting is for drunks and school kids .

I had a similar injury (but to the other side) doing BJJ too, and now I have post-traumatic scoliosis, my spine is curved from the site of the injury (torax in my case) to the neck.

  • Very, very ...

Very, very dangerous move. Defender did not have much of a chance to release his guard and would have fallen awkwardly on his head. Definitely some lessons to be learnt there... its a competition, you're not trying to kill them.

  • It's supposed to be ...

It's supposed to be a sport also. The point is not to injure your opponent. I don't think he did it on purpose, but if you look he did pay attention to his opponents position when he began to apply the move. In the battlefields of medieval japan that move would have been great, but man, it's a competition not war. Whatever happened to honoring your opponent and sportsmanship. That guy's back is going to be screwed for life.
