This scenario demonstrates how the Linux servers in the solution use LDAP for authentication, access control and authorization. The servers are already pre-configured to use LDAP for users and groups. This setup tries the directory first and then tries the local files.
Any user in the directory configured with the appropriate Linux/UNIX attributes can authenticate to any Linux/UNIX server configured for LDAP. For access control, we require that users be a member of the linuxaccess group before they are allowed to authenticate (access control). Finally, we can demonstrate that directory-based users can be a member of directory and local groups that can then be used to authorize users in any way that groups are typically used with the operating system.
