It's not a slanted view on women, the US military, Air Force and Army Ordinance did confidence tests over 30 years and found that women where more likely to not break off an attack, not concede to orders and use emotion more rapidly or completely all together disregard commands on launching, deploying tactical nukes. Men fell in the middle range and would disobey an order but this is why when a nuke is delivered it's a two man or crew team effort incase that person fails an order.

Read the book years ago when I was a kid. The original movie followed it fairly faithfully.

personally i thought that part one was fairly decent, it set the stage for something that could have been excellent, but very poor acting and a weak resolution to the plot completely ruined it for me, and made me regret watchig it at all

Didn't read the book but I know Michael Crichton didn't write this turd of a screenplay. It had vague similarities to the original movie, and stank of the usual TV SciFi movies that get vomited up on the SciFi channel. Disappointing that A&E is now signing off on this sort of crap.

Very optimistic to trust a female officer with delivering a nuke. Not ever going to happen, military protocols do not allow women to key nukes for delivery.

I think there is at least one goof in this trailer. The jet fighter is initially shown to have two round air intakes and a delta wing (a configuration not used by any current US fighter - is it a Mirage, or a Kfir?) while the final view, just before it blows up, clearly shows a single intake, below the fuselage: an F-16. Has anyone else spotted this?

i take it you read the book...how was it? normally i read the books before i watch the movie or in this case miniseries but i wasn't aware of a book.
