Unbelivable!Excellent! The deeper i go into baroque and composers/playwrights of those times the more respect i have for Them and i am in awe over there ingenuity and compositions.
I wonder how many other authors have been lost...
THAAAAAANK YOU, MARC!!!!
Enjoyment pure! Jewel! Superb! O....encore!

I like the way they used candlelight ... i like the effect... it reminds me of the effect on beautiful façades of buildings lit from below at night. :->

By manyakmiyimneyim [Affiliate User] 1204930258 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI loved it!! especially the choregraphy - great dynamic, true baroque spirit. And singers can move very well also.
By benjbutube [Affiliate User] 1203796600 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYes. They didn't intend to recreate a 17th-century performance, but they wanted to be truthful to its spirit. Old pronunciation, comedians constantly facing the audience, elaborated gestures, every page of music written by Lully... it was still very close from the original. And it was very funny!
By MehdiCaps [Affiliate User] 1199577630 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI like the music. I am not so sure about these costumes or the dance. Women did not dance on the stage at this time and for sure the dancers would not be without shoes...
By midnightblue80 [Affiliate User] 1199432926 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHehe, good. Lully's music can't be judged on this long piece of pure silliness (the famous introctory march is very good, though). He was one of the five most important composers of the 17th century, in my opinion. I'm a huge admirer of Marc-Antoine Charpentier, but I wouldn't say that he was better than Lully.
By MehdiCaps [Affiliate User] 1199147380 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI do happen to live without Gilbert and Sullivan, but I would hate to be deprived of Lully's music. :)
By MehdiCaps [Affiliate User] 1199145785 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNo, your comment didn't disappear. It's under the second video. ;)
