I've been living in WI since 1989 and it's actually pretty gay-friendly, at least here in Madison it is. Remember, WI was the first state to pass a state-wide law banning anti-gay discrimination (in 1982) and WI was also the first state to elect an open lesbian to Congress (Tammy Baldwin, the Congressional rep for the district in which I live, first elected to Congress in 1998).

this is one of my all time fav songs, i never heard this version before. thank you for posting it, bonnie taylor has a beautiful voice, she did this song justice.

Hi, lls --- as you saw, above, I grew up in Tulsa, but I lived in the OKC area in '84-'85 (which is, I think, *long* before you were born LOL!). I lived in Midwest City, out by Tinker AFB, and managed a shop in Heritage Park Mall (which I think was destroyed by a tornado, several years later).

tough place to be gay, lol. im from Oklahoma too. Used to live in Woodward but now live in OKC. It's true we are bible-belted, but not as bad as some places, like minnesota, nebraska, and wisconsin.

Oh, gotcha, now --- no, I'd never heard of Radical Faeries (now the "-H**o Rose" part makes sense; I just thought you'd mis-spelled Oklahoma, as many on these boards are prone to do), but I'll bet you're well-represented in Montrose, here in Houston. Oklahoma's a "tough place to be gay", I'll bet, being all Bible-belted and all, as it is.

Small world, when we first moved to OK we lived in Weatherford for 6 months and then moved to Cordell. My faerie name is from the Radical Faeries, not SCA. In case you've never heard of us the Radical Faeries is a gay men's organization.

It's out here, and, like the one for "Making Love . . .", the vid is *weird*. But, of course, it's "worth the trip" :-D! Check out, also, the *spectacular* piano-playing, which I think is *probably* "Professor" Roy Bittan of The E Street Band (he's usually the "go-to-guy" on Steinman-associated projects, and this sounds like him).

Cordell? Heheheheheheh . . . that's a place-name I hadn't heard in a *long* time --- my band director was from Weatherford :-D. And . . . people *never* believe me when I tell 'em there's such a place as "Gotebo", either *chuckle!*

I grew up in a very small town in western OK called Cordell but I'm not "morose"--my YouTube name is also my faerie name, Oklahomo Rose--I just ran the words together so it looks like I'm morose :)

I haven't heard it yet, but I definitely plan on listening to it VERY soon. I love that song and I cannot wait to hear her take on it. :)

In 1977, Tyler was diagnosed with nodules on her vocal cords that were so severe that surgery was mandatory. She was then ordered by doctors to never speak for six weeks. One day in the middle of her healing process, she accidentally screamed, causing her voice to carry a distinctive rasp. At first, this made her believe that her singing career was at an end. But to her surprise, her next single made her an international star.

....Did she have a sore throat here or something? Her voice is very....gravelly on the prolonged notes... But I think that aside from Nicholas Tse or however you spell his name, everyone else who sung this song all did fairly good with it.... And...Why is there wierd operah high notes in the background...I guess it sorta suits the vid
