I don't think it's ever been confirmed that he received reconstructive surgery, but if he did it must have been because of the beating his face took when he became a boxer...or his face just changed because of the boxing.

Who gives a F**k what he looks like.Still in my opinion the best actor of his generation. Tom Hanks once said Rourke was one of his favorite actors because not all his movies were great but there was something about Rourke that made him imminently watchable.I agree just watching Mickey's scenes are reason enough to view a movie.

gees...Mickey Rourke played in one of my favourite movie of all time: Angel Heart. and no matter how he fucked up you can't take his amazing performances from him...let's say like yeah Rumble Fish, Barfly or Year of the Dragon to name a few.
he's the first who made me pay attention to actor's voices 'cause i just love his so...oh well...basically, it's just a comment to say i love him very much and to thank Stony03 for the upload.

Yes, I have seen Rumble Fish. I have pretty much seen all his movies and even though he did F**k up after getting into boxing and a lot of drugs, I still love him and admire him as an actor. About the charisma thing, yes, I agree with you. There are so many things that you can learn to say and many ways that you can learn to act to look cool but I think there are a lot of actors who do the same LEARNED things everyday. With Mickey Rourke, I never feel those things are overdone.
