to LisaLisanme; I think on the Sundance Channel first aired it February '05 and was 90 min. but this version appears to have been broadcast elsewhere and is about 45min. By the way, just a small but important correction, it's "The Origins of AIDS". I think the whole story is a bit more complicated than portrayed in this video but it still seems there was lab involvement that gave the disease epidemic potential.

This type of plague can spread from person to person through the air. This means you don't need fleas to get it. Pneumonic plague is spread by breathing in Y. pestis suspended in respiratory droplets from a person (or animal) with pneumonic plague. This kinda of mutation happens naturally. For instance this might happen w/ avian flu.

For years, I've been thinking AIDS was a manmade disease, especially considering scientists keep ignoring the cure for it. You never see red ribbons in stores the way you see pink ribbons.
