  • You ALMOST got it ...

    You ALMOST got it right! The thing to do is place the frame over the form with the styrene on top, heat the styrene with your heat gun uniformly. When the plastic is heated, turn on the vacuum quickly while continuing to blow the hot air over the plastic until it totally conforms to the shape.

    Also, the peg-board should have many more and smaller holes in it, so that the plastic will be able to be sucked right down to the base of the form. Or lay window screen beneath the form you're molding.
