I think Paul was in a state of shock and did not know in what to say, he was caught off guard by the press. The truth had not soaked into him in what had happened to John, being murdered by Mark Chapman, who was a obsessed fan.

I am inside Pual's head, and he says he really was torn up over John's death. He also wishes he hadn't written "Jet"

paul died first,nobody heard or was told, unless you read between the lines, so the guy scratchin his face with no compassion was a much hated 'version' of paul, replaced and shoved in with john and the band before their eventual break up,oh fake paul, how do you sleep?

yes you are right.and I didn't say he acted wrong.that doesn't mean I have to like it,and I didn't-you have no right saying I am wrong for that!!

You make a good point - none of us knew Paul or John, nor can we get into their minds. So no one can say McCartney acted wrong, because in order to make that judgment we would have to be able to see things from his frame of reference.

And you know this because you're such good pals.

Paul's the kind of guy, you can tell, that doesn't like wearing his emotions. He's not being rude, he's just hurt and doesn't want to share that with literally the world
