By JimmySlipknot [Affiliate User] 1198071631 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removealrighty. Judo is good by itself :P
By IChinaManI [Affiliate User] 1198053174 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeno i didnt actually. i said it is good under certain circumstances. it depends on the result you wish to achieve. oh well this argument is pointless and will achieve nothing. i dislike wasting my time trying to explain what message i am trying to convey with my words. interpret them as you wish
By HeavenlyAnarchy [Affiliate User] 1198026428 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe thing is he cross-trained. I'm talking strictly about tkd fighters. Also Anderson silva does muay thai, which is way better than tkd. Muay thai flows into grappling arts easily due to the clinch. There's actually alot of standup grappling in muay thai that has been slightly diluted in the north america mauy thai gyms. But go to thailand and they still have tons of it. I like the flying knee comment though haha, someone bviously watched the marquardt fight. :p
By IChinaManI [Affiliate User] 1197997406 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI don't worry about people knocking me down. I prefer ground fights and i will give up guard np to get it down. meanwhile if my kick connects hes out. the reason Anderson Silva is such a good striker is because hes a black belt in bjj. if it goes to the ground hell still win which is why he doesn't worry about throwing flying knees and such. Any style can win if you use it right.
By 00mace [Affiliate User] 1197997155 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYeah, the thing with fancy kicks is the high risk factor, especially if the guy charges in and knocks you down during one. I think that high flying spin kicks could work, but alot of times its way to high risk. Also with bum rushing dumbasses, you have no time to do fancy kicks that require range. Tkd is just too much of a range style. It doesn't have jack when a fight gets up close and personal imo.
By IChinaManI [Affiliate User] 1197996722 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removea knock out is a knock out. the problem with bouncing is not that its unstable in the hands of a tkd trained fighter. But that it takes alot of energy. fancy kicks still knock people out you just have to know how to use them. I agree with the poor stance thing. Get those hands up buddy.
By 00mace [Affiliate User] 1197996411 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI didn't mean light on the feet, I meant that it's too bouncy. The tkd fighters that bounce around would not do too well against a bum rushing thug. imo kickboxing/boxing is way more effective than tkd. Especially with all the fancy kicks, poor stance, etc.
By IChinaManI [Affiliate User] 1197996063 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeok later you can explain to me how when fighting a heymaker throwing bumrushing idoit being light on your feet is a bad thing... In the mean time yes tkd is unrealistic. just like kick boxing or boxing is un realistic. all martial arts are unrealistic but there strength comes from how you can modify and apply them. tkd has knock out power thus can be used as an effective art.
By 00mace [Affiliate User] 1197992127 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI know what your point is. I said I AGREED that judo may not be able to work all the time on the streets alone. ("may") You came to the conclusion that judo alone is no good under whatever circumstance. I said it MIGHT not be good ALL THE TIME alone, but I didnt say that it wasn't good alone. You should develop some reading comprehension yourself dumbass.
By IChinaManI [Affiliate User] 1197981273 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei didn't say boxing was all powerful. my point which you yourself confirmed is that judo should not be studied ALONE. my comment is not biased in anyway shape or form. idiotic? you yourself confirmed my point, making you twice the idiot. learn to read fool
By HeavenlyAnarchy [Affiliate User] 1197980927 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removetae kwon doe for the most part is unrealistic. Too light on their feet for any stability. Especially fighting the average haymaker throwing, bum-rushing thug.
By IChinaManI [Affiliate User] 1197967382 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWow you're ignorant. I kind of agree that judo alone may not be able to work all the time. But neither can boxing. Cross training is necessary for all martial arts. You clearly have no knowledge of any grappling arts. Just watch some gracie challenge cvideos and see how well they do. IF you can close the distance and clinch you really wont eat many clean punches. Cover up and clinch, and then it's a judoka's game. Go learn something before you post biased idiotic things.
By IChinaManI [Affiliate User] 1197967364 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveJudo rocks!!
By helikoptere [Affiliate User] 1197953680 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeunnecessary insult from someone who sounds about knowledgeable as a camel. i've seen people go into fights with that sort of mentality and get their ass beaten down. judo alone is no good unless you plan to retreat or arrest them. any good boxer can knock out a thrower as they throw them.
By HeavenlyAnarchy [Affiliate User] 1197944006 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI tend to disagree. i say judo throws are way more lethal when done with malice.
By IChinaManI [Affiliate User] 1197926335 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removemcdojos. More a karate/tae kwon doe thing than anything else.
