I agree. Run them once a week and turn all of your lights and electronics at the same time. About 1/2 hr is good and you can wash the boat at the same time. Every time I buy a used boat I assume the engine is junk and calculate the price of the boat less an engine. Ask the owner how often they go to their boat and that is a clue about how they take care of it,,, or not... Thats my 2 cents on engines :-)

I'll tell you something, I'm a marine engines tech and I've worked on a lot of boats, sailboats and yachts and I've met many of these guys with small sailboats with 30 years old engines on them. They are stupid... they challenge the sea with those piece of junk.Most of them don't even service the engine that's why it shutdown sometime

Well, Malchom is a dumbass irresponsible father, first of all. What asshole takes his 2 year old out when the swells are 20ft? and then his boat breaks, so, he's got a vessel thats not even seaworthy? What a moron...an many levels. He should have had his hatch secured but even with it open the boat quickly righted itself, broken mast and all, showing once again that even the smallest sailboat is and will remain the safest boat to be on in challenging conditions. Take classes, gain experience close to shore & check the weather.
