This is the actual Buah to the true Silat style known as Sera. It's from Indonesia. It's NOT Dutch...It's far too fluid for that.

  • To the person who's ...

To the person who's comments I'm deleting:

Sorry, but as I said before: I don't have anything AGAINST the Dutch, per se, but I WILL DEFEND MY OWN. That includes against the DeThouars and their ilk, or anyone who steps up. Unless you have been there and trained, don't come to me crying because your "Pendekar" says he's the only one with knowledge.

    Those days are LONG over.

  • No one said it was ...

No one said it was Dutch; heck, the Serak you know isn't Dutch -- or didn't your teacher tell you?

A practitioner of Bapak Sera(k)'s abilities carves a very wide swathe. There are several lineages, all recognizably Sera(k), all distinct from one another. If you're training in one out of the de Vries/de Thouars line, good for you. It's a lineage famous for martial prowess, nasty politics and lying about other practitioners. You seem to be coming along fine.

  • It's NOT Serak. ...

It's NOT Serak. This is INDONESIAN, it's where Serak comes from. It's SERA.

I know this because I learned it in Indonesia. That's where Pencak Silat comes from. It's a country in Southeast Asia. You know, a place where you have never been.

  • This surely ain't ...

This surely ain't Dutch. Doesn't even look like the Sarak I know. The movements and counterattacks are to indirect, according to the Serak I train, under supervision of Guru Dolf de Vries from Leiden Holland. Don't even know if this is Serak!

There is much rumored about the Serak style, and few people who are as straightforward as you. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
