I've always known that it makes sense to live a little *beneath* my means. I bought a small house (when realtors and "advisors" were telling us to spend more).

So I feel sorry for the poor folks who were suckered into buying Too Much House. I know how realtors and "advisors" can pressure people.

Even those of us who're doing OK should be compassionate.

Lenders and "financial advisors" misled these people, telling them that the value of their property would continue going up, reassuring them that their earnings would probably go up, etc.

It's no dumber to believe that than to believe that McCain/Palin would be Good for the Country.
