    The MD11 is a newer version of the DC10, which is a jet made in the early 70s. I believe the MD11 came out in the early 90s. It is a good jet, but it came out at a bad time, Airbus and Boeing had better planes by then. Some airlines still uses the MD11 for passengers, but it's not going to last long. KLM and I believe Finnair are some of the only ones still using it. Boeing acquired MD in 1997, so they stopped taking orders to then stop making this jet.
