Well, it changed my ip, but my internet went down. Selected obtain ip automatically, internet was slow so I used the old "ipconfig/release-type random ip-obtain ip automatically" method to gain another ip in hopes that it would fix the problem. Still my internet is slow for some reason. Thanks for giving us a warning that this might F**k up our connections, asshole.

That was aload of crap to be honest! My internet went down. I tried to select obtain IP address automatically after it failed to work and it changed my ip back in cmd. However my internet still did not work. I ended up having to power off my internet and do a system restore, which worked. I am back with my oringinal ip. And will never take your advise again.
