The #1 rock song ("Cold") in the country that year was recorded with what you call "budget" modeling gear. The evidence doesn't get much stronger than that: you don't need authentic tube amps to record a fantastic album. If you still want to argue that your tube gear sounds better, it's fine with me! It's just amazing to me that people like you, so stuck on your tube gear, refuse to admit that you can get GREAT sound from modeling gear.

Secondly, I found that list of bands via a 5-minute Google search. There are plenty more out there and you know it. Your assertion that no successful recording artists use modeling gear was flat out disproved, and instead of admitting you were wrong, you're twisting your argument around. Through further research, I discovered that the guitar tracks on Crossfade's first album (with the hugely successful single "Cold") were recorded solely with a Line 6 POD in an apartment!

You can think what you want, but that same Marshall Valvestate amp that makes me a "poseur" in your eyes was the preferred amp of Chuck Schuldiner (Death), and was used excusively by Dino Cazares, formerly of Fear Factory, on Divine Heresy's first studio album. These are/were successful musicians with loyal fanbases. Nobody cares that they used a "poseur" amp, because it sounds great.

Dude you play the cleanest covers of any vids I've seen on youtube. This one, though not terribly difficult to learn, is actually pretty hard to play cleanly. This one and especially your vid for ATR - The Air That I Breathe are my faves, but all of your videos are brilliant and so clean!

i really hate people like you, music is music who cares what they use, if you like it then listen to it, stop making it such a big deal of what the band uses/used and what you like cause no one really cares.

LOL Motley Crue and a few shitty bands no one heard of before.. seriously.. I was talking about artists, guitar heroes like : Angus Young, The Edge,David Gilmour,Kirk Hammett, Zakk Wylde, Joe Satriani,Brian May,Tony Iomi, Van Halen,Yngwie Malmsteen, Slash, Clapton... they all use tube amps. And I never said non-tube amps sonud like crap, but they don't sound as good, My first amp was Marshall vs100h and I still like it, but tube amps are way better. If budget sound is good for you, good for you.

I've just learned this song but it really hurts my picking arm when I play. How do you keep your arm loose when you pick? I'm guessing you use your wrist instead of tensing your arm (Which is what I do even though I know you're not supposed to)
