The band Avial is from a small town in Kerala but its members are professional musicians who have played in various bands in India and have done tours around the world independently. They came together to create music which does justice to the word Mallu Rock!

Rex Vijayan -- Guitars and Synth
Naresh Kamath -- Bass
Mithun Puthanveetil -- Drums

This song, Chekele, is from their upcoming self-titled album "AVIAL." Check out their official myspace website for band biography, and some more awesome songs from their upcoming album!

  • The music starts ...

The music starts with a very indian melody and merges into a a jam session and a short silence ensues and then you here a Jimmi Hendrix like improvization- perhaps its a musical dedication for their influences. The lyric is about the customs of rural, the poverty of a tenant farmer - the lament and the prayer. The hunger perhaps due to loss of crops, meanwhile also under pressure to pay his landlord. At times the song is addressed to his woman. Marvelous work
