This is my DIY laser. Uses a laser diode made for a 16x dvd burner and a L.E.D flashlight from target.

Also I had just finished it and was testing.

    No it works just fine. I use nimh because they are more stable. Fresh alks will blow the diode in seconds if not instantly. That is why you do not use alkaline. :)

    I was using the driver that came with the LED Flashlight, 150ma at 3v. It made about 80mw then. I have recently striped the driver board and connected the diode directly the the 2 AAAs. They give 260 to 215mA at 3.2v with output around 145 to 120mw.

    I will try and get around to uploading new videos.

    hi your video was great, what driver did you use to run that and (mA0 for that? what is your input power for that? what was the output power of your DVD burner laser (mW)?
