I think mastera is right.. even if robots somehow COULD take over, we would always have a back-up plan, although it might not be as drastic as an emp considering the horrible sideeffects it could have. If intelligent machines were placed into society, you'd better believe they're not going to be defected, otherwise companies will lose tons of money.

Artificial intelligence is not the key. It's lazy. We need to use robotics to enhance our own capabilities. Could you imagine an exo-suit that could increase your lifting power to thousands of pounds?

Robots are freakin dope. They should put more money into the projects so robots do everything for us so we dont have to work. The idea of robots taking us over is fuckin retared tho. As long as we make it so they arent as strong as us well be good. But for the jobs that require robots to be strong we can always use EMP on their ass. Destructive to machines harmless to humans.

That isn't really what AI is about. AI doesn't create emotions, and entertaining someone is about manipulating emotions.

AI is simply the idea that you could put QRIO in a box, with several different items, and the robot could work out what items it needed to get out of the box.

That isn't emotion, it is intelligence, the two are seperate. We only need recreate the simulation of emotion to get what we need from AI, we don't actually have to program the emotion itself.

neatness is their sole purpose, you could have a bunch of them programmed to perform the three stooges nonstop, but not for cleaning your home or getting you water (impossible for them without a stroller)

i would like one too... i have many of programing skills.. these would be fun to toy with and find out what it can do!

actually there is no such thing as AI.. YET! we dominate society, once machine can fully think for themselves(AI), then they will dominate society, we will become the animal in the cage entertaining robots... but really i dont think robots will take over, thats just hollywood talking

dude, their for enterntainment only, not for job uses. notice how small they are, how is a robot that size going to get you a glass of water?? this robot is simply for enteracting, mostly for old people to keep them company, but i would love for this robot to keep me company to(dont get any funny ideas).

Sure, it can get you a glass of water.. but it'll take about 10 minutes. I don't know how slow you guys are, but I can get my own glass of water within a time-frame of around 10 seconds, and that includes drinking the thing. I certainly wouldn't pay $3000 to wait 10 minutes for some pile of electrodes to perform a simple task for me.

They're neat, but they aren't practical yet.

To release a robot like that, they would have to sell it at a very high price, too high for what the robot is capable of doing at the moment.

asimo, qrio wats the difference they are both made in japan and both use same technology the asimo is a lot bigger and there fore can fit more hardware
