Hi,
The need to check for a carotid pulse during layperson CPR was removed a number of years ago. Additionally compressions (30) now form the first part of CPR followed by ventilations (2). The video is correct to current guidelines.

Hey,There needed to be two "rescue" breaths and then CHECK FOR A PULSE before pounding on her chest. It's VERY possible for a heart to be beating but no respiration... I think doing CPR on an adult with a heart beat can actually kill them!

Thank you for your comment. Our understanding is there is a move towards standardising the guidelines internationally.

30 compressions, 2 breaths is correct in the US as well (per AHA guidelines as of Sept 2007).
