Kick pad drills for throwing leg kicks from the ground (scorpion position). This drill helps condition your kicks and builds power because it requires using your hips to launch the kick. A 3-minute round of this working each leg is a killer workout! Try it!

Also useful for MMA ground-fighting. Target your opponent's knee as he moves in.

  • Boxers have ...

Boxers have extremely strong abdominal muscles. If anyone did an front push kick on either of us we'd be incapacitated regardless.
    P.S also
In almost all MMA and kickboxing, front kicks to the head are illegal.but In a real fight though by all means use them.

  • if my understanding ...

if my understanding is correct the front push kick isnt an attack, its a defensive move designed to create space for combinations. Taking that into consideration and not even knowing wut a front snap kick is, i'd say its mroe damaging than a push kick

  • the shorts arent ...

the shorts arent essential you can wear anything as long as its above the knee, but your own gloves are a must. I have good sparring gloves, around 16oz (usually 14 for kickboxing but since i have a hard punch) and a regular bag glove for pad work and bag work, since its lighter, cheaper and preserves the life of your more expensive sparring gear.

  • I do MMA+teach MT. ...

I do MMA+teach MT. this MT kick is based upon the follow-thru. Front Snap kicks vs Front Push kicks for example, the snap kick delivers rapid organ displacement causing possible internal bleeding+bruising yet the push does not but it sends your opponent flying. Karate chops are based on 'snap' or pull back as well as punches. The way techinques require 'pull back' or follow-thru is based on something called 'kinetic linking'.

  • I'm a muay thai ...

I'm a muay thai teacher and as for the other guy - he has a good point but this is not the case. Front snap kicks vs Front push kicks, snap kicks will cause rapid organ displacement and cause alot more damage, as with punches. But not every technique is based on these physics as this MT kick and many karate style chops base upon the 'follow thru' rule.
