I do understand religion, and that's why I don't buy into it. Scientists are working on discovering how the universe came to be. We have theories which fit into the laws of physics as to how things came to be, but since we weren't around 6.8 billion years ago, we aren't entirely sure. We're working on it though. Just because we aren't 100% sure doesn't make the idea of creationism true. Your entire argument is a false dilemma- eg if I am not entirely correct, then you must be.
