What if Michaelangelo's contemporaries had complained because his Mona Lisa was white and not black? Art is art and an expression of the artist's experiences. Stop trying to politicize the icons. Look for an artist that expresses your cultural familiarities if you feel uncomfortable with the images that each artist creates. Art is the truest expression of freedom. Set yourself free and break out of your self-imposed boundaries!

By mvWeasley [Affiliate User] 1214298797 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis is a great complement to women in film, as well as a contrast to it. There is a wider spectrum of 'beauty' for men than for women, more room for originality. Not taking away from the quality of this, just observing that we have no female equivalent of Gene Hackman in 'women' someone who is unconventionally attractive and a mainstream success at the same time. Still, this is a powerful piece of art, both Women and Men in film. I also liked your women in art. Lovely find on the net.

By lovley7000 [Affiliate User] 1214250111 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI A BLACK WOMAN AND A HUGE FAN OF OLD MOVIEs, while it unfortunate that black people where not represent well in film in those days, it is the way it was . So I think to attack this person because you don't think there are enough black and or other ethnic groups represented here is a bit unfair. Just take it for what it is and enjoy the piece. Why don't you go and do a morph video of black film star in history.
By lovley7000 [Affiliate User] 1214249816 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI guess you're right. Let's see...I think he should replace Jack Nicholson with Billy Dee Williams, Tom Hanks with Wesley Snipes, Michael Douglas with Eddie Murphy. I think we're getting closer. Oh wait, what about the early years? Can't really change the mix there. Let's just scrap historical accuracy and stick Jackie Chan in place of Cary Grant. We don't want people upset even if the TRUE history of Hollywood has been bias throughout the years.
By b4we1 [Affiliate User] 1214223658 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove@ b4we1 - I'm not sure how you can qualify all those as 'white' given that a good number are animations, and what I have favourited has no bearing upon the truth of my previous statement. Would I still be a politically correct hypocrite if I had all "black" videos? or nothing but video game reviews, or movie trailers, lectures or how-to's?
By pharmacopaeia [Affiliate User] 1214222521 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou have 66 videos in your favorites - all white videos. You are a politically correct hypocrit.
By b4we1 [Affiliate User] 1214222217 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHow about 15 - Lawrence Fishburne, Wesley Snipes, Danny Glover, Forrest Whittaker, Cuba Gooding Jr., James Earl Jones, Eddie Murphy, Paul Robeson, Terrence Howard, Ving Rhames, Billy Dee Williams, Richard Pryor, Louis Gossett Jr., Don Cheadle, Chi McBride, and that's not even looking at other ethnicities. How about Asian? Chow Yun Fat, Ken Watanabe, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan? I don't mean that that there is some 'ideal number' but that films like this normalise such white-washing.
By pharmacopaeia [Affiliate User] 1214221559 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWho specifically are all the famous non-white actors that weren't included that you would have liked to have seen? Any specific names other than Morgan Freeman? I saw that Sydney Poitier, Sam Jackson, Denzel Washington, Will Smith and Jamie Foxx were included. I don't know what is the politically correct number that you're looking for but how about listing 10 specific names?
By b4we1 [Affiliate User] 1214219491 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt's kind of depressing that the men in this cover a wide range of 'looks' and types, all deemed attractive in different ways, yet the women in film video is pretty monotonous. And again! Where are all the non-white actors!
