The Aikido seminar with Steven Seagal in Paris was awesome. Learned a lot about Aikido - well the version he portrays.

(he doesn't hide the fact that he has his interpretation of it, which is different to other kinds of Aikido - e.g. saying "if it doesn't work out there on the street ... forget it")

If you actually did some research on Segals martial arts background then you would know that he studied Karate, Judo Kendo before he mastered akido ( btw he has black belts in all these arts )

aikido = the art taking dives for your master

segal had to fight other dojos and the yakuza to keep his school open. he was the first westerner to open a dojo in japan. the other dojos didn't lile it too much and the yakuza tried to extort him and make him leave

i agree with you martial arts were developed to make soldiers and and warriors better and what they did. which was to kill each other. the spiritual side is just a by product and some scholls don't even stress that because they are teaching combat not religion.

I have been doing JKD for 5 years now and I can say without a doubt the training routine that you go through is one of the most rigorous I have ever done. yes you very correct about chuck norris a great taekwondo fighter, he was trained by bruce lee. But van Damme is a fake, doesnt compare to lee, norris and seagal. I read a article recently that van damme got his ass kick a biker bar in nyc, i am a fan of van damme but i dont think he is as great as he is on his flims, i think jackie chain is much better than van dammme, and for the other person that we all are part of a cult, it not true, i am a boxer, not a karate fighter or master lol,

You should watch your langage, because by being rude, you are dishonoring yourself. Also you should show respect for other people (here Norris and van Damme). Did you know that Norris is a 8th dan Grand Master in Taekwondo? He is also very good in karate.

i've been doing aikido for 12 years, don't pretend you know. seagal was one of the greatest!! 7th dan seagal. norris and van damme is bullshit. so STFU about all S**t about seagal!!

you really should check out his other vids, he been in hundreds of fights and is know only to lose one,which wasnt in his prime.
