Muay Thai: Traditional Dance and Fight. (Muay Boran)

Its not called throws. We we actually practice it, not because of the explosive K1 popularity, but for the history behind it and truely know it call it something else.

I have seen it, there's quite a few videos of friendlies, held every year I think. What I was meaning though was that lethwei's a more entertaining sport than modern muay thai.

you should see a muay thai fight agains lethwei. if lethwei was soo good don't you think thailand would be burma by now?

i'm glad to hear that you learning "wai klu", learning a martial art isn't always about the punching but the culture of it too. To understand the art you must comprehend where it came from. I despise alot of american muay thai gym becuase they treat it as a sport instead of an art, alot of gyms don't teach wai klu anymore and it's sad

that's becuase of some war where the burmese captured the state of ayuthoya i believe...but what's for sure was that alot of the thai record were burned and that's why there's no exact scriptures of ancient muay thai

i'm more familiar with the one where he frees the slave, but muay boran was always developed before his time, i'm not sure about the sport. I dunno it's legend man, i'm not even sure if khanomtom was real

lmao no copy paste, i used to train Muay Thai and my instructor insisted we learn all aspects of Muay Thai...what i wrote was what my instructor told me, after i told him diggin up info was hard to do since there arent many records on the history of muay thai...and there's numerous stories about the origins of muay thai...i guess the only thing they all have in common is that muay thai was used in ancient wars between Siam and Burma...

muay boran is ancient thai boxing...one of the most dangerous martial arts...really hard to find teacher to teach u this style nowindays

chidoridesu, muay boran is the son of mae mai...i assume youve heard the of the farmer who was captured by burmese soldiers and taken as a slave? he used mae mai to defeat ten men before the burmese king, the burmese king let him free after this display of courage...once in thailand the king enlisted him and he spent the rest of his life teaching mae mai muay thai to thai soldiers, and he eventually developed muay boran as a competition sport during peace times...=)

this is really 100% muay boran, cos there aint no throws, to me its just a tradional muay thai preformance. and ram muay thai is prefermed before muay thai fights, not only muay boran fights
