Perhaps my favorite Prine line (from another song,) which says so much within its brevity, is: "But she waits just a second too long..."

Simple words with deep meaning: that's why I love John Prine.

Great job Ian - this is one of my favorite Prine songs. He has word choice & chord patterns that relay an innocense. The way "sunshine" is sang in this song is my single favorite "word-sang" (I just came up with that) in a particular song. It's releases with pure vulnerability. Great, great job!

Sadly, according to tonight's forecast, more winter is just around the corner, and spring is still several blocks away. I'm seriously considering driving up to Wiarton to reprimand a groundhog at this point.

John Prine has written some of the best songs I have ever heard,and I can't say enough good things about the late great Steve Goodman. Great stuff man

Cheers I have watched dvds etc and read books and they all say that. I just love guitarists. I am more of a singer than a guitarist but can put a few chords together, just a basic guitar for me which was my first proper guitar. As someone from Ireland I love folk musicians. Just have not got the time I would like to put into playing better, had lessons when younger.

A thought: When learning a new song, don't sing along at first. Play it through a bunch of times until you don't need to think so much about your fingers. Start singing along only after your fingers have learned the song.

That was brilliant I wish I could play the guitar that well, I shall be watching again, you can see the chords clearly, I am more of a strummer and can't sing and play at one time.
