To those that think the V1 is too expensive your personal opinion but my V1 has paid itself off with in the first month I bought it. When I drove NY-CO in 24hours it was the detector I used. Now Radar detectors won't save you from laser guns but for laser guns I have a laser jammer on my car. My car is built for long road trips on the interstate with all the gadgets I got in it. When I get home for the summer I'll make a video of all the different things i have.

If you are looking for a cheap radar detector that works well do NOT get a cobra get BEL, or Whistler. The BEL v955 is a great detector for only $179, It has got great performance

    Just going on your knowledge, I might end up just getting the Bel V955 to start with. The V1 is a little steep for me right now. Eventually though, it's V1 all the way.

    Here in Aus - The V1 is still the leader in RD's people drive around with crappy rx65's etc and I laugh. The 9500i doesnt work well at all here cause it doesnt have a selective scanning mode for ka photo radar.

    Um I am very experienced with detectors and a radar detector and laser jammer tester. The V1 falses the same place where the Escort 9500i, xi, or ci falses. That is unless you use the programing features of any of the detectors. I use my V1 with a 30second automute for to deal with false alarms and its works great. The 9500ci has great performance but horrible ramp-up. And the V1 is the best dash mount and $400 detector around.

    Ya and if your an experienced with radar detectors you will know where the cop is without the use of arrows and plus the v1 give way to many false alerts try going with the 9500ci its the best hidden radar detector out there.

    Cops can only give you a ticket if they have proof, by using radar or laser otherwise you can just fight it off in court because the cop doesn't have any proof you were speeding.

    usually 0.5-2miles all depending on the situation. Usually the I can detect the cop before he can get my speed reading. But it is alot more complicated

    Not made by insurance companies...And Radar Detectors are illegal in Virginia and Washington DC....If cops see a radar detector if you get pulled over you are profiled as a speeder and very less likely to let you off with a warning
