Actually, our rules do not permit rear naked chokes. And we take out a few other moves that we think are potentially very dangerous. Do you want a 30 second Gina Carrano fight or 15 minutes of good hard real female freestyle wrestling? The majority want the latter.

Well, we can just not post the training videos anymore if you don't want us to. But we film everything we do, including training, and if something good comes up, we post it. I guess you'd rather we didn't.

I've watched a few of these videos, and while I'm all for female MMA(Cris Cyborg, Kyra Gracie, Satoko Sinashi, Gina Carano, Megumi Fujii and many more are great to watch)...this is nothing more than backyard wrestling...a simple Rear Naked Choke and the "fight" would have been over, but all this showed was a complete lack of professional coaching and a potentially serious back injury waiting to happen...

I agree. You can't do much about ordinary spectators but I really wish the coaches would just shut up. Helen Von Mott is the worst offender. I often have to watch Virago tapes with my system on mute, because of Helen's incessant comments. Coaching from the sidelines is banned in boxing, so why isn't it also in wrestling? Just how many opponents is a visiting fighter supposed to be up against?

Women are more flexible but you still got to be carefull with beginers. You can always start again and get even more practice.
If a beginer wont tap I just let them go and practice finding something else.
Good to see women lerning they can also be very dangerous though, keep it up. :)

I agree..if you listen on the tape...we are saying "tap tap tap" and she says "no." She'd been training for over a month, and we figured she knew her limit. We're all about keeping the girls safe and the fighting sane. She's a very flexible gymnast, and we talked about it afterwards.

i think the trainer/ advanced trainingspartner should reconsider few things..
new people often dont know when to tap and think they have to be tough - you dont pull the neck that far even if the partner doesnt tap. Choke em slowly and then let go if they dont want to tap. Also if you train kids: thats not a good example how to train

This is a training video....first time for one of them...sorry, that's how we train..on the mats. Figured you might rather see it than not.

Commentary from the sidelines always ruin potentially good matches like this. It's the people putting the event on with the big mouths which is even more annoying since they should know better. Just shut the hell up and let the girls figure out what to do as they wrestle.
