Good question. Hats off to anyone who can figure out what really went down inside Motown 30+ years ago. There's no way that Nick & Val wrote the song without singing it aloud along the way of creating it, and I bet they even cut a demo of it too. In my book, the songwriter is always the 'first singer'. But who knows how many Motown artists took a crack at any song...and would singing it in the shower count? Haha.
Well we know Diana's is the most successful version on radio and in sales.
Excuse my ignorance, but Diana Ross, doesn't sing "Reach out...Touch" originally?
