Repatriation for the latest 4 fallen soldiers, Master Cpl. Scott Vernelli, Cpl. Tyler Crooks, Trooper Jack Bouthillier and Trooper Corey Joseph Hayes was on Monday, 23 Mar 09 at 1400 hrs.

The bodies of these fallen soldiers were escorted by police in a motorcade along the Highway of Heroes, the portion of Highway 401 that runs between Trenton and Toronto.

Hundreds of Canadians lined the overpasses of the highway to pay their respects to the fallen soldiers, a scene that has sadly become a frequent tradition.
While in Toronto on Monday this week, my cousins Susan and Joanne took me to the Harwood overpass in Ajax. Hundreds of people of all ages lined the bridge three deep across 12 lanes of the highway joined by ambulances and fire trucks. This is a grassroots movement that has simply grown out of respect for those who put their lives on the line. It was an honour and a privilege to be in this area to pay respect for all those persons in Canada who would have liked to be there also.

    when you realize the oppression the afghastan women suffer with birka's, public executions, maritial R**e especially with arranged marriages that may be abusive in some cases. and the terrorism training camps out of afghanastan that kills innocents in all parts of the world, then you appreciate that much more the ultimate sacrifice these young men & women have made to try to make right what most rational thinking people believe is wrong & bring freedom & education equally for women.
