Well, it is obvious you knnow nothing about Nuclear Energy if you can not distinguish the difference between a Nuclear Bomb and a Nuclear Reactor. Your ignorance makes me ashamed that I served my country for such a dumbed down population. You take the booby prize.

If you're that old you should be able to figure out on your own how the American public linked the incident at 3 Mile Island with the horrors of a nuclear bomb. I'll give you a hint, they have "nuclear" in common; I remember the newscasts and speculation well. I'm not saying it was the correct path to take on our part but with the media using FUD, it couldn't really be stopped.
nice credentials and all but simply saying you were in the Navy does not equate to "knowing Nukes", so forgive me if I don't take it as seriously as you seem to be; tell me you were the head engineer for one of the Trident's and then I'm more apt to listen(though this is the Net, anyone can lie about anything here). By ehrichweiss [Affiliate User] 1199624186 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI am an American. I am a 30 year Navy Veteran. I know something about Nukes. 3 mile Island is our Chernobyl. 3 mile Island did not injure, kill or even get anyone sick. It was low level stuff that was blown out of proportion by the media. What does Hiroshima/Nagasaki have to do with nuclear power plants. France is using our technology to do what we chickened out of.
By seadregs [Affiliate User] 1199623453 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYeah, I'll give you that but then again we did have that 3 Mile Island event back in 1979/1980 so the backlash was to be expected. Trust me, if it happened in your country near a decently populated area, you'd have the same type of backlash since, back then, it hadn't been *that* long since Hiroshima/Nagasaki.
However, you must not have paid attention to what country just started producing $1/watt solar power..it was not France.
It is France. They are almost all Nuclear Power Plants. It will work in France but since the United States whimped out on Nuclear Energy by the propoganda about the evil of Nukes. The United States is always going to be 50 years behind France.

By qwertyu123123 [Affiliate User] 1199462509 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveA good concept. It could actually work. Tanks on the cars could be eventually be enlarged to give them a better driving range. The current model would be excellent to tool around town for grocery shopping etc.
Since France is almost entirely powered with Nuclear Energy they can provide the electricity to power the refill stations. The U.S. is afraid of Nuclear Energy and are going to have to live as a third world nation.

Why would you need a top speed of 100mph? The highest speed limit in America is 75mph, with the exception of two highways in West Texas, which are 80mph.
Most of the population lives in urban areas where the speed limit is even less.
jusy fuckin sweet

I stand with those who think this is a GREAT IDEA! There is not always a need for vehicles to go fast. Golf carts don't go from 0 to 60 in 5 seconds do they?
A car that runs on air; THAT IS REALLY COOL!
dam puttin that much psi
in a bb gun would be over kill lol
its a good concept but not enough power
and every body would have to use that car cuz its so light big semis would blow this mini car to kingdom come but ya its a good concept
It is a little naive to believe that this vehicle will end all fuel consumption. This is type of engine is merely a start. Alternative fuel systems will chip way at the gas engine market. One company may not completely change future but rather multiple companies be involved in sustainable changes. This is a fantastic concept that has amazing future implications.
By rsheftel [Affiliate User] 1196844262 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThose are good points, and on top of that these cars still contribute to pollution even if indirectly since electricity is needed to power the air pumps that fill these things up. That electricity is probably being produced by a coal burning power plant. Now if we went over to purely solar/nuclear/wind/water generation then that wouldn't be an issue but neither would having an electric car.
By ehrichweiss [Affiliate User] 1196752459 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTill they can get a car that emits 0% emissions & can get great mileage & can do at least 100 mph, we are never going to be rid of our oil addiction. And the only other option is for the U.S. government & other governments of the world to put a complete stop to making gasoline fueled engines. Good idea, but not good enough to stop our oil consumption.
By prodigyofpeace1983 [Affiliate User] 1194977437 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis car is pointless. It's a great idea, but the car lacks everything that a combustible engine can do. It doesn't get faster than 40 on air, needs gas to go faster so still polluting the air & being dependant on oil.

By vikingscool [Affiliate User] 1194824650 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI read somewhere that depleted natural gas "caves" and underground salt mines were/are being used for storage of large quantities of compressed air. I believe the high pressure air can be derived directly from air compressors that are driven by large windmills and sun-powered Stirling engines and from oceanic tide and wave machines, thus solving the problem of storage during the periods when the sun doesn't shine or the wind doesn't blow
