  • His mother really ...

His mother really shouldn't argue with his delusions...it is a "no win" situation. The thoughts he is conveying are completely "real" to him. I hope they found the correct medication for this man. Also, a charity event needs to take place to raise funds for the research of this disease or humans such as this individual will continue to suffer.

Kicking old "green teeth right in the knee" comes from the Charlie Daniels Band's song "Uneasy Rider"!

  • My mother and I was ...

My mother and I was victim of assault by my brother who has schizophrenia. Extremely scary. Never ever want to experience something like that again. We are trying to get him into a facility, but my grandmother is saying he is okay. Schizophrenia is a frightening disease. My brother played with his hair the same way the guy is playing with his. I don't wish this on anyone.

  • a town without pity ...

a town without pity was a book written in 1961 about R**e
the man who shot liberty valance-john wayne film in 1962
dreamed of a hillbilly heaven- john ritter song written in 1961

it's like he's stuck in the first years of the 60s-dunno when this was documented but in part 2 he seems to mention the police and his experience in the force a lot which my guess was around 1961

  • I'm heartbroken for ...

I'm heartbroken for Jerry. He really needs his mom -- and she is just not able to meet that need. Gosh, I hope he found love, affection, support, and acceptance. This disorder is cruelest in that it is so isolating. For example -- if he had cancer, everyone would -make- the time to be there for him. People know what to do for cancer patients, and are generally very supportive. But with schizophrenia, which devastates mind as well as body, people just don't know how to offer support.

  • That's exactly ...

That's exactly right. A person with Schizophrenia has very disorderd thinking. But, yes what he's saying deos make sense to him. No, his family most likely does not understand him though. But, they accept it b/c they know that's just part of the disorder.

You know a person with Schizophrenia has disorganised thinking thats shows in their speech, i have a question: does the person with Schizophrenia know they are saying that stuff that goes completely off topic? It might just be me but i think that they think that saying that makes sence to them but no one else. Am i right?

I've been in a 2 1/2 year relationship with a young man with schizophrenia...it's hard, but every now and then I get to experience the real him and love him for it. He behavior is very similar to this man's behavior. It's frustrating and I admit that sometimes I forget that he has a mental condition...

really eye opening and sad...Schizophrenia really makes you realize how much we take ordinary reality for granted. I seriously think people that live with it are probably some of the bravest out there.

  • at 5:53, Gerry ...

at 5:53, Gerry quotes The Charlie Daniels Band "Uneasy Rider" -- "..in walked a dude with green teeth...."

I actually understand what he's getting at there and at the beginning during the "picture has a headache" part. Perhaps these doctors should read more into what he is saying instead of dismissing it as "just loosely associated garbage". It is definitely loosely associated, but its not garbage!

  • Yup, Gerald and my ...

Yup, Gerald and my brother, who has also been Hospitalized and diagnosed with SZ, have scary similarities.

Talking gibberish, saying off-the-wall things that come completely out of left field, and at times becoming agitated at nothing (nothing to US anyway, though there's clearly something going on in THEIR head).

My brother was very recently Hospitalized (las month), and I'm really worried about him. Hoping his (forced) treatment goes well, and hoping medication works for him.

this seems like a true case of schizophrenia...the uncollected thoughts, talking about this and that. It's hard to have a conversation with one like this because of this. It's crazy...and sad
