This week Avi Lewis visits the people behind the native movement for self-determination in Hawaii. Well over 200 years old the movement has recently been gaining on strength. Archive footage courtesy of www.namaka.com.
Buying oil lines in the Middle East is not the same as annexing territory.
Oh and Russia didn't take any part of Georgia, you moron. South Ossetia has been de facto independent since 1991 and Abkhazia since 1992. Russia recognizes both break-away republics, and both South Ossetia and Abkhazia have declined to sacrifice their independence by being incorporated into Russian territory.
The only thing Russia "took" were buffer zones and Russian troops have already withdrawn from those.
I will concider you grown when you no longer blame whity for the economy and your bad health, and when you come to terms with the fact you where illegally taken over, but that it ends up leaving you better off than before.
Blamming whity is exactly what I would call "not growing up". If you have diabetes from overeating, if you dont get a good education because of lazyness, if you get high on ice- thats your fault, and those numbers arent caused by America.
While I've said it before, I'll say it again- I knw the takeover was illegal and I actually dislike the U.S. in many areas.
But be logical- we are more secure under the U.S- Tourism money and the money we get from the military would practical disapear if we werent part of the U.S. We also get health care and resorces we wouldnt get otherwise.
Also, do you really think you can have true sovereignty. Dreams dont come true, you can only change what is within your power.
Ebu....wake up Africa has political parties what channels do you watch? FOX...are you blind? Hawai is not America, the island was stolen by the gov. And i`ve got thousands of reasons why Hawai must have its sovereignty back, FREEDOM! This is the problem with american people, they always think they`re right to americanalise people around the world.
Hawian people kick the north asmerican from your land!
you are STUPID! Going around youtube looking for DONT BLAME WHITEY arguments! Haaaaa! Grow up kid!
By Mutwasze [Affiliate User] 1224275221Africa doesnt have a political party- what nation are you speaking about?
Also, this is off subject, we were talking about Hawaiian sovereignty.
Well, if you admit its the fault of african leaders then my point is made- it isnt just the fault of whites- in fact, the U.N nations such as American and France have helped bring in aid and even stoped the situation in ruanda.
Also, capital type isnt really helping your arguement- and stop being offended that I gave the oppisite view, thats the point- to show you what I think to be true, and vice versa.
"and their land yeilds very little agriculter."
THE LAND WOULD YIELD IF THEY WERE ALLOWED TO HAVE STRATEGEMS IN PLACE TO FOSTER GROWTH/DEVELOPMENT. THEIR POLITICAL PARTY CHANGES RESULTED IN THE OUSTER OF THOSE WHO SAW AGRICULTURE AS A VIABLE MEANS OF EXPORT (INCOME). PINEAPPLES ALONE ACCOUNT FOR DAMN NEAR 1/3 OF THEIR REMAINING GDP! THAT ALONE COULD BE LEVERAGED. BUT ITS NOT BEING UTILIZED FULLY DUE TO THESE LAND GRABS.
"you may not realise it, but much of their poverty has to do with the fact their own leaders and greedy"
WELL THATZ MY POINT. LEADERS SELLING OUT! THEN and NOW. THE PROBLEM IS STILL THE SAME. SO YES. I DEF "realize" it! JUST LIKE THOSE SAME LEADERS IN AFRIKAN COUNTRIES LEAVE GRAINS ON THE DOCKS TO ROT RATHER THAN DISTRIBUTE THEM TO THEIR PEEPLE.
If you knew anything about world government youd know land masses are constantly being taken, like the resent invasion of Georga into Russia(Russia latter took parts of Georga) or china securing oil in the middleeast(ourselves doing this).
If any Nation felt so inclined, they could easily take over a helpless independant Hawaii.
