also make sure to keep the connections tight and strong. I saw some other guys vid and he said he lives in the metro area he thought he was getting good reception off of this but i got way better and i live in the country.

You can see the difference plain as day... All I can say is you having nothing to lose but maybe $5 to build one and try it for yourself.

If you are in a risky site, just install a sharp, grounded lightning rod near-by and higher. You might get some induced current, but not a direct strike.

Not exactly sure who or why they would post such a thing. I live 45 miles from Detroit and get awesome reception.

On some of these videos people are posting not to waste your time and that these are good only for five miles. Those typing this have not built nor tested one. I have built three, one for a friend, two for the home.
Five miles? I am 55 miles NW of Chicago and 50 miles SW of Milwuakee. I ran both coax leads in to a spltter/combiner I bought from Circuit city and into a signal amplifier from Radio shack. The amount of crystal clear channels received? 38. Cost of antennas? About $5.00.

you can ground it with ground stake,they sell em at radio shack?

im thinking of making one of these but will it get struck by lightning?
