That's pretty obvious, and your "general knowledge" is dead wrong. Thermite cannot cut sideways, makes an unbelievably sloppy cut, and cannot be timed at all, as any soldier with a thermite grenade can attest. That's why it is NEVER, EVER used in controlled demo.

Temp of burning jet fuel is also irrelevant. As every structural engineering article has clearly stated, the jet fuel only STARTED the fires, and most office fires reach 1600-1800F, enough to warp, bust bolts & welds. Most of the strength is gone long before 1800F anyhow.

The Popular Mechanics issue, (not a book) was not an "independent investigation". It was another attempt by the Hearst organization to mislead and mis-direct the public regarding 9/11. They only touched on the weakest arguments, and used the same flawed reasoning to discredit questioners of the "official version" that the 9/11 commission used. 47 massive steel columns do not all fail simultaneously due to asymmetric impact and fire damage. Twice. On the same day. Not to mention WTC#7. Wake up.

The engineers on the WTC design team were John Skilling and Les Robertson. They are on record as having designed the building to withstand the impact of a fully loaded 707. On YouTube search, type in "WTC design (Part 2)" for some enlightenment. Nice of you to respond with such eloquence; "Absolute bullshit". David Ray Griffin wrote a book called Debunking 9/11 Debunking. It is a well written book in response to popular mechanics.
