Leading scholar and teacher Allen Pittman does some applications of a movement from Hsing-I Chuan, an old Chinese infantry training form. The movement is called "Splitting" and is related to air in the ancient Chinese cosmology which uses Five Elements.

    Hi. Just a minor factual correction on the video blurb above - the splitting action or Pi Quan in Xing Yi Quan corresponds to the metal element of the traditional Chinese 5 elements. The Chinese system does not actually incorporate air unlike most of the others (Japanese, Greek, Tibetan). :o)
