Hang Zhou, China - Long Tidal (Bore) Wave

A tidal bore (or just bore, or eagre) is a tidal phenomenon in which the leading edge of the incoming tide forms a wave (or waves) of water that travel up a river or narrow bay against the direction of the current.

    For a regularly occuring natural phenomenon, this is actually quite BIG....between 7 and 9 feet high and up to 4 miles wide at its greatest, and this is something that happens SEVERAL times a year! Some might not be impressed, but I am!!.....I have wanted to see this..(it used to get called "the miracle wave of hangchow" in old books)...since I was 10,.. 36 years ago!!
