And that is the reason I felt in love with Rachel, I have always loved snakes and when I saw Rachel, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, she is unreal and her slow motion movements are unbelievable. Out of the one million muscles that we have, she moves all of them, one by one ;)

BTW, go and see Rachel's show: Le Serpent Rouge, is touring in the U.S. right now, soon in Europe, it is JAW-DROPPING! Mardi and Zoe are awesome as well ;)

It's not nice to be insulting other people. Like MsDivalicious01 said they are two different artists and performers. You can't compare one to the other, and I've been a Shakira fan for a long, long time and I love the way she dances, she mixes different movements and converts them into her own. Rachel is truly devoted to BD just like Shakira is devoted to her music and writing her songs, that's where she spends most of her time, not bellydancing.

Rachel is absolutely stunning and the camera always loves her. She is truly talented and was born to dance. Shakira is good at what she does but it's pointless and a waste of time to compare the two women to each other; that's like comparing apples to oranges.

No kidding. I sometimes wonder if the people that so idolize Shakira and other hollwoodized dancers have ever actually seen a true bellydancer.

to what temur20 said....hinduism had its origins around 5500-3300 BCE and as for sanskrit...it can be dated back 1700 BCE...and sanskrit IS an "indian"/ indo-aryan language. the hindu scriptures are found to be originally written in sanskrit
