It was the 80's. There was no way the producers of this movie could possibly get their hands on soviet migs. Same reason why top guns migs weren't migs either......but at least in that film they painted them up to make them look like migs....well....sort of.

I wonder if its possible to re-make Iron Eagle 1 and 2. Make it less cheesy and more polish. (CGI based MiG-29s?)

For example: Instead of killing Doug off so suddenly, they could have had him seriously injured in the first dogfight.

Maybe have a showdown with that Russian pilot during training? Then have that F-16 pilot who died in the canyon accident try to stop it but died in the process. Both realise the consequences of their actions, and reconcile their differences in the final battle.

This...was a horrible trailer. The movie was Terrible, but the trailer was HORRIBLE. I was 19 when this came out and I thought t was badly made then...and I Lliked IE I...but the rest got steadily wose.

Of course the soviet union would not lend them real Fulcrums, not even USAF lend they anything, they had to use the Israel Air Force planes, and the IAF didnt lend them neither F-15s, so they had to play with the F-16, the F-4 and the KFir
