Judo Vs Shooto?

its such a two sided agrument though cuz the bjj guy would come back with all the gracie winn over judoka's its so stupid when people argue over two very similar styles.. read renzo's new book he gives a history of jiu jitsu and says its the same.

Reality check. 95% of fights end up on the ground. and id rather have the best ground training possable for that. and who said anything about a submission? maybe a choke. other then that its alla bout controling there body.

You obviously know VERY little about Judo. BJJ is a version of Judo and the Gracies were taught by MAEDA (A Kodokan champion). And to finsih ever heared of HIDHEHIKO YOSHIDA, IGOR ZINOVIEW, HECTOR LOMBARDO,and finally MASAHIKO KIMURA. If not they all beat the S**t of so called BJJ Experts!!!!

ground work is an excellent form of self defense dont get me wrong its the fact of knowing if you can take it to the ground safly . i love ground work in the dojo , but on the street id rather know a good hip throw or reap to send the guy on his head so you know you can get the hell out of there .

i disagree the last thing i would want to do in a real life fight no matts , just ground or concrete is take it to the ground only if i had too .you think about it , you go to the ground you got 2 things that will happen to you , you get your body, face hands and arms ripped to crap looking for that submission or you are gonne get a beat down from some friends of the person you are fighting or the random people walking by seeing two guys on the ground thats easy picking .

They are both simialar arts. The main diff is.. Bjj=95%ground 5%throw
Judo=85%throw 15%ground

Knowing both will deff improve your game.. but in a real life fight. bjj's throws with its supirior groundwork and chokes i find to be much more effective.

then you obviously know nothing of judo , do you think we throw and then just stand there ?? we throw and transition its the number 1 rule in judo on the matt or on the street . always transition you dont know if the guy is finished you throw and then you take it to the ground. bjj is very similair to judo the other night we did leg locks , just cuz its not in the sport doesnt mean its not in the art.

lol obviously u know nothing of BJJ.. BJJ has Judo throws in it... BJJ is just better then Judo.. cause it teaches you how to finish once u do those throughs.. and judo is all about the throws and little ground.

really i hate to see the bjj guy comming out of a fight his face and hands would be so cut up from ground work , the judo guy throws someone the person doesnot get up cuz he landed on concrete simple.

no its called an osoto gari fool you must watch alot of pro wrestling.

and you have to remeber when maeda did go over he was an old form judo before alot of techniqes were banned , i have no clue why people say judo isnt a good form of defense when bjj id esseintially judo but more newaza ...look up kosen judo and you see its bjj .
