... There.
I think this is a bit different from the others.
It's a tribute to a movie called "Uncovered" which was a cinematic adaptation of the novel La tabla de Flandes by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. I enjoyed the movie (mostly because of John Wood, Sinéad Cusack and Michael Gough being in the cast) but I really LOVED the book. I adore Arturo Pérez-Reverte and this novel is one of my favourites.
Probably the reason is also my love for one of the character, César. I like John Wood but the movie César can't compare to the book version (which I imagined quite similar to Ian McKellen... XD), a complex, charming and deeply human character. I loved his relationship with Julia and how his love for her made him do what he did (U_U I'm trying not to spoiler but after all the vid spoilers it all, right? XD). Anyway you could say that I tried to represent this aspect of the story even if in the movie it wasn't really explored. This is also the meaning of my choice of song (I love Suzanne Vega).
About the book (thank Wiki):
Julia, an art restorer living in Barcelona, discovers a painted-over message on a 1471 Flemish masterpiece — appearing as the cover of the book —called La partida de ajedrez (The Chess Game) reading "Qvis Necavit Eqvitem", written in Latin (English: "Who killed the knight?").
With the help of her old friend and father-figure, the flamboyantly homosexual César, and Muñoz, a quiet local chess master, Julia works to uncover the mystery of a 500-year-old murder. At the same time, however, Julia faces danger of her own, as several people helping her along her search are also murdered.
Movie: Uncovered (1994)
Music: Knight Moves, Suzanne Vega
