Aikido Knife Defense - Shihonage

this is how it is done in Aikido practices. Aikido is a peaceful art and doesn't promote violence and "sparrings" as to what other and most martial arts are doing. through constant repetitions, aikido techniques are very deadly and effective techniques.

Aikido is more of a peaceful art its not beating the S**t out of each other like in jiu-jitsu or kung fu its an art of grace, technique, balance, harmony and spirituality

You keep claiming everyone but you is ignorant but that's just delusionary behaviour. At our dojo you get 100% resistance every time and there are injuries. And, yes, Aikido has saved me twice in two 'real life' situations so I think I can speak from experience. If you find Aikido impractical fine but you cannot infer from that that everyone finds it impractical. That's just a nonsense. Christian Tissier [look him up] would kick your arse for sure!!

Unfortunately, I am not going to respond to any more comments here.The sheer ignorance of the participants to the REALITIES of combat mystifies me.If you learn something,TEST it with 100% resistance against an opponent who can take a little pain.I have broken bones and snapped ligaments while just training,let alone real conflicts I have unfortunately been involved in.You suppose your techniques are deadly;your assumptions are incorrect.Beginners should not learn impractical technique from video

Did you even read my comments?I did study Aikido at one point.Just out of curiosity,do you carry a Bokken around with you?Have you used it to defend yourself?NO?Then how do you know that a strike would KILL someone?Until you have ACTUALLY USEd YOUR ART AND WEAPONS TO SAVE YOUR ASS,don't speak as if you have direct knowledge of the results of such an action.A lot of people would surmise that getting shot with a gun would kill you;WRONG!People live through this stuff every day.Ignorance kills.

If you are seriously claiming that Aikido cannot be used in a real life situation then I am afraid you are badly mistaken! It most certainly does not require the cooperation of the assailant as you claim. Beginner videos like this may make it look that way but that's how anyone begins. In Kendo if someone took a 100% effort strike at you on day one you'd be paralysed. Aikido done well is deadly and works in real life situations. Don't judge something you don't know about.

Also, you may believe that people can learn from a video. They CAN NOT! Once again, to care about the art you teach, requires you to practice diligence and responsibility with your students. Do you want your relatives to learn from a video, and then, not understanding the fundamentals, try it to a disastrous end? I think not.

Unlike yourself,my ego isn't involved.My school does not have a belt ranking system.The kids learn early on, either "You can,or you can not".Your ego prompts you to defend your art which you have not tested in terrible conflict.What I teach, I HAVE tested, out of necessity.I don't have to put up a video to try to prove that I have saved my own ass a couple of times.Go hang out in a bad place, get your ass beat once or twice like I have, then learn an art that can be used in a COMBAT SCENARIO.

Aikido är så stilrent. Brukar det finnas nybörjargrupper för vuxna som behöver börja träna? Gym och ren löpträning är så tråkigt :)
